Glossary of Terms 

Below are some terms that are used to describe the quality of certain items that are available from Afinitek.

New retail: This refers to brand new factory sealed goods. These goods come with the standard manufacturer warranty.

Clean serial: This typically refers to Cisco products both new and refurbished. Some Cisco products are sold with a Smartnet support agreement already in place. The Smartnet agreement will not be registered to the new purchaser of the goods meaning support cannot be offered to the new owner.  We only sell clean serial products so a Smartnet contact can be added by us or by the customer.

Renew: This refers to remanufactured goods which carry a full warranty. These products are boxed as new and may have never been used previously. Usually a lower price than new retail products. Typically refers to HP products but not exclusively.

Spares: This refers to brand new boxed goods intended as replacements for the spares market. They carry the spares part number on the box as opposed to the official part number. They may have a reduced warranty compared to new retails or renew products but as spares products usually refer to server components such as memory and hard drives it is rarely an issue as the whole server is covered by the warranty and not the individual items. Typically refers to HP products but not exclusively.

Bulk: Bulk refers to white or plain box products. They are original items however not in their original packaging. They can be brand new items but sometimes will be pulled from working environments such as demo products then tested and refurbished and re-boxed. Typically refers to HP products but not exclusively.
